Por vezes procuramos sempre alguém que nos queira manter vivos, ou que nos faça sentir vivos e felizes. A maturidade para perceber que a felicidade é instantânea chega sempre tarde demais, sempre depois de cometer aquela acção que não queríamos ter ou porque tínhamos medo de a cometer.
Com uma excelente banda sonora e uma fabulosa história, este filme é recomendado a todos os que acreditam que não existe happily ever after...
Daniel: (...) I love you.
Margot: (laughs) I have to leave. One thing.
Daniel: Yes?
Margot: Because none of this is actually going to happen. Can I make an appointment with you?
Daniel: What kind of appointment?
Margot: I'dd like to make a date to kiss you.
Daniel: My schedule is very flexible.
Margot: in 30 years?
Daniel: 30 years?
Margot: I'dd like to see you in Louisbourg, at the
Lighthouse, I'dd like to meet there. I'll be 58. I don't know how old you will be.
Daniel: I'll be 59.
Margot: On this date, at 2p.m. Eastern Standard Time, August 5th 2040, I'dd like to kiss you. Until then I'm married. But after thirty-five years of being faithful to my husband, i think i well deserve a kiss from you.
Porque depois da explosão de emoções e palavras iniciais, vem sempre o silêncio fingidor e constrangedor. Porque o que queremos, mesmo, é continuar a sofrer de verborreia e fazer de todos os dias um dia diferente.
Doug: Somethings you do in life, they stick.
Margot: I'm so sorry.
Doug: There's no reason to be sorry. (...) We didn't have this conversation then, and i really don't want to have it now.
